i know quite a bit about paper currency but am still quite a newbie when it comes to coins. i was checking through my morgans and found a 1886 P morgan silver dollar that might be a possible vam. i needed the advice and expertise from my fellow ct family. i think i might have an 1886-P VAM-8 Far Date, High 6

8 III2 8 - C3a (Far Date, High 6) I-2 R-3
Obverse III2 8- Date set further right than normal. Closed 6 set slightly high.

here is what is listed on vamworld

this is what mine looks like:

they look very similar to me. now is where i need help. is my coin this possible vam and if so could it raise they value of the coin. also could i get some opinions on the grade of the coin. thanks in advance.

Be patient, not everybody is around every day. The VAM guys will see it, just might take a bit.

It appears that it is a VAM-8! Check the inside portion of the rounded flap (don't know the name for it) at the front of the ear and behind the cheek bone to see if there is doubling. From what I can see from the pictures, it is and if so, then I would say that it is definitely a VAM-8!

To be honest, I really can't tell as it appears to have some damage in the area where the doubling should be! However, the from the position of the Date and the "6", I believe that it is a VAM-8!
