Cosidering Rising Oil Prices . . .

. . . I thought I would show an oil related note.

These notes were used by employees of the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) probably in the 1950s. ARAMCO was the first oil exploration company on the Arabian peninsula and continues today as Saudi ARAMCO.

Information concerning the notes has been hard to come by. Inquiries to ARAMCO itself have been met with silence. The following information came from a former ARAMCO employee:

The Senior Staff consisted of the American and other western employees. The Junior Staff were the Saudis and third country national employees. He only remembered the 10 point notes and did not recall any other denomination for this series. He remembered that they replaced an earlier series of tickets.

Since this is Series Six, it is possible there are five previous series waiting to be found.
