Error Note acquisition...Star Note finds and Interesting Serial Number find!

Hey Coin Talk Folks,

I wanted to share a few acquisitions and finds that I have mde lately!
I recently purchased a nice 1950 $50 Note with an off-set printing of the Serial Number and Seal and was cut off-set. I also found a $20 Star note with a very low and interesting Serial Number, a nice $1 Star note with a fairly low Serial Number and another nice $1 note with an interesting and almost Repeating Serial Number. I know the pictures are poor but I hope that you can read the Serial Numbers and see the Off-Set printing and cutting error on the $50 note.

Please let me know what you all think about the notes and any possible values of each.

Frank

the $50 would be the only note i can see that would fetch any type of premium, at least for right now. The low serial $20 could years down the road, but its not low enough to gather serious interest now, and the condition also doesnt help. As for the star note and the almost repeater ... well, they are worth $1 each the star could fetch a premium now to the right collector and will increase more as time passes.

I'm impartial to $50's. I love that error note. The only thing better would be finding it in circulation.

Frank....

Granted the images are not too good. Looking at them I see the $50 is a classic 3 fold note with a error! It also appears to have a paper clip mark on the top reverse!
There also looks like corner and edge wear, bending and just good ole general use! The off set for the 3rd printing is shifted right..does it encroach the design elements? If so how much...man hurts my eyes looking at this one....

The $20 looks better.... and for me and me only, I tend to collect $50's in CHCU or Gem, again this is personal preference, however, value is better maintained unless it is a very special rare note.
The $1 are worth face at least...the $20 is a F to maybe XF (that XF would strech it some) and might get $23-$25, The $50 to the right buyer may command a litter more but is in F to XF at best. I am not good at pricing error notes unless they are CHCU or better!

Check the white balance of your images to rid the yellow cast...Thanks for sharing them...nice pick up's!!

Regards,

RickieB

Rickie:
So you are saying that the $50 is worth little more than face?

Wow, I was off on that one.

Frank, nice notes.
Thanks for sharing.

Error notes do command a premium...of course to the right buyer.
Yes, it may be worth more than face..how much depends on who is in the market for it.
If it were in better condition it's value would be much more!

New Pictures of Notes!

Hey Coin Talk Folks,

Here are the new and somewhat better pictures of the notes that I promised! Again, they are not the best in the world and there is some distortion as I moved a little while taking them. At least they are better the first ones!

Much better images..!! See the center folds? The paper has been folded so much it looks like a "break"....
F to VF on the $50 and XF to XF45 on the $20..XF on the one's as well with a possibility of a high XF 40 in my humble opinion.

Nice notes...you can see the error better as well.

much better images

i agree with RickieB on the grades, but i dont think the $20 would sell for much if anything over face. Its a somewhat low serial number, and a star, but its a current note, and can still be found in circulation. Adding to that is the condition ... The low serial might get a bid over face, but i dont think much.

The $50 however ... nice note!!!
