Help w/Venezuela Bolivar Coin?

Hello - I am curious to learn more about this coin and am hoping you can give me your thoughts on:

- What denomination (is it similar to a U.S. silver dollar)
- Assessment of grade (don't know what that odd orange spot is on rev.)
- Value (I suspect it is worth only bullion value)

First pic (just had to include my Purdue cap )

Better obverse view:

Yes it is.

[quote- Assessment of grade (don't know what that odd orange spot is on rev.)[/quote]

I would say it is in F condition.

Catbert, the 5 bolivar coin you have appears to be a 'normal' date as opposed to wide or narrow. It is also known as a 'bolivar fuerte'. It has 25g silver, on eBay it would sell for more than bullion in this condition.

Looks like acanthite beat me to it. Its a fuerte, and the 1911 is very common. Good thing is that its a 90% silver, many of the venezuelan coins where 83.5% silver. If you sell it let me know what you get, I've got several that I'm thinking about selling.
