Hi all. I recently found this website and wanted to join in the discussions. After a brief technical difficulty (thanks Jack and Peter) I am online. Whoo Hoo!
A little background on me ... I have been collecting coins off and on for over 40 years ... Pretty seriously for the last year. I am one of those guys who had a collection as a kid and whose parents put a few coins away in the proverbial "cedar chest" because I was interested in them many, many years ago, which have now turned out to be the cornerstone of my collection, together with some amazing circulation finds when I was very young. I'm not saying my collection is all that impressive, but I love it!
I'm really looking forward to talking with the members of this forum, many of whom I'm sure are very knowledgeable experts in various types and mints. I have a pretty eclectic collection, so I'll be interested in various forums ... I expect I will learn a lot because I am not an expert on anything ... I just love coins and know what I like.
I'll have to think hard on an avatar. You guys have some really impressive ones!
