| Hello Everyone
Hi,
I just wanted to say hello and enquire whether there are any other members who live in Houston, TX.
I finally bit the bullet, stopped lurking and started posting. |

Welcome to the forum.
You might want to Google coin clubs in Huston. Coin clubs are a great way to meet collectors, learn about numismatics and possibly get good deals on purchases.
Keep on Collecting!!!
Allen

I have a full set of Jefferson nickels, date and mint, no proofs, all but 4 of which I pulled from circulation. I also have a full set of lincoln memorial cents, AU - BU all pulled from circ and am 17 coins away from completing my wheat cent collection (50% of those coins came from circulation too).
I'm pretty close to finishing a BU set of Rosie dimes and about half way through an AU -BU silver Washington quarters set. I have a set of JFK halves I've almost completed from circ too. I also have sets of a few other denominations that I'm working on from circ (pres dollars, BU state quarters, Ike dollars) and have a couple of large cents, barber coins and silver halves.
There's only one coin club in Houston and that meets about 10 miles or so from my apartment. That's problematic for me since I'm about the only person in Houston who doesn't have a car and rides a bike everywhere... If I could get there easily I'd be a member already. I have no problem riding 5 miles to the local coin shop every couple of weeks but once a month ten miles in the dark seems a little reckless to me. People here drive like lunatics!

Greetings and Welcome to the forum. Just so happens I grew up 120 miles north of Houston in Leon County then went to college over in Nacogdoches; SFASU, 82 Forestry.

Welcome to Coin Talk! Hope you find this site as a great resource for information. I know at least a few of us would love to see some of those nickels.
Best Regards
Darryl

Darryl | The macro function on my camera's broken which is kind of killing me cause I have what looks like a DD 62 nickel with some other weird looking stuff going on and a bunch of other coins I'd love to hear everyone's opinon on. Hopefully I'll manage to sort something out.

Welcome ! I hope you enjoy Texas.
Lots of good coinage in Houston, and several good shows, evenly spaced. Hit coinshows.com to get the latest details.
