Buffalo Nickel Shotgun Rolls

I have a few tightly wrapped Buffalo nickel rolls that i purchased online. Should i open them & hope for a three- legged buffalo, or are the odds against anything valuable? Rolls much more valuable left intact?

It looks like older paper that has stripes just on the ends. The ends are tightly wrapped, end coins are circulated.

I'm not sure they were using that type of wrapper in 1938.
