1928S 2 1/2 Feather Buffalo Nickel

Hi, I just read one of GDJMSPs posts about nickel varieties. And I decided to take a look at some of my buffalos to see if I had any of the 2 feather buffalo nickel varieties. Anyhow, I found one, and its this 1928S 2 1/2 feather type. So I figured Id post pictures of my find. Thanks GDJMSP for your post, I would have never known that this variety existed.

Nice find man! I'll have to go check that out myself, must have missed it. Never know what could be hiding in your collection, waiting to be discovered.

IMO this is an example of overkill in looking for errors/varieties.
For the hardcore nickel specialist, that's a keeper.
But for the average collector it's not that significant.

But at least it's a naked eye variety.
Not like the Lincolns with extra knees, wavy steps, etc.
It's more like a 1922 Plain without the strong reverse, nice but not the real thing.
