testing scanner

A Canon Canoscan LiDE 90

Process so far is to scan at 300 then change it to 600 with a 50% reduction in size. Then a light sharpening. It's a new scanner so it'll take some time to figure it out.

Anyone have trouble scanning the new notes? I tried scanning a $20 2006 series and the scanner will not do it. It keeps telling me the "item is note placed correctly in the scanner." Is this part of the new anti-counterfeit stuff with these new notes?

It sounds like you have a scanner problem.

I haven't seen any 2006 series - these brand new notes were obtained from the bank 10 days ago and they're 2004.

Try adjusting the contrast curve...

Unhappy

I have tried everything! It does not matter what I do The machine will not scan the newer notes. I even took a page from a magazine and put it behind the twenty when the machine got to the note it stopped and told me it could not be done. I put an older note in the exact same spot and...no problems.

So far it refuses to scan series 2004A and 2006 $10 and $20 notes.

The $10 I scanned with my ancient HP SC500 is a 2004A, so the problem must be with your scanner, not the note.

My thoughts are that there is some programming in this new scanner which recognises the new notes and does not allow them to be scanned.

I don't know... I'll keep messing with it though...
