A Two-fer

Just finished going through my fifth strap since joining the forum. Not only is this my lowest serial number, it is also my first star note. It is not CHCU, but it is still nice and crispy.

Now I know that this isn't much to brag about, but hey, I takes 'em where I can get 'em.

Jon

You HAVE bragging rights. Serial number is low because there were only 640,000 of those printed. A paltry sum.

Book value on that note in CU is $40. That note is already worth more than a dollar.

VERY nice find!

clembo, that print run only had 640,000 printed. they did print subsequant runs for a total of millions. I bought 2 of those stars just prior to the BEP ruining their value. (at least what i paid for them)

Gonna have to look into that as I cross referenced with First City Currency before I posted and he said 640,000 printed. Intrigueing.

clembo, the site i used could also be very wrong! and in a w i do hope so i do have 2 of them in gem condition!

This is the site i used and it shows
K 000 00001 *
K 006 40000 * ----> first print run in may 2006

K 032 00001 *
K 038 40000 * ----> second print run febuary 2007

If this is correct, then that would be 2- 640,000 print runs. Still, 1,280,000 is still a pretty small number.

As i mentioned, that site could be worng as well.

Daggarjon,

That site is accurate. Its an excellent reference. He updates it constantly with BEP information.

I'll second that. For a free site, it contains some pretty reputable information.

Plus, if you look at his serial number survey pages, it demonstrates he has a real understanding of BEP operations and a very good grasp at how to document gaps in serial numbers reported by the BEP.

i am glad for one thing, howerver ... with this thread, and with clembos post, and my re-looking into the amount of notes printed for that district stars, i realized the 2 i bought - while i did take a bath in what i lost - are not as worthless as i thought! When i first saw the notes were printed in a second run, i was dissapointed. But i didnt notice that only another 640,000 were printed! For some reason i thought millions were printed... SO... i am quite happy that the 2 i bought, while did lose 1/2 their value, retain more then i thought
