AMERICAN ISRAEL NUMISMATIC ASSOCIATION

PRESS RELEASE

A new token issued by the American Israel Numismatic Association commemorates the 40th anniversary of the American Israel Numismatic Association. The American Israel Numismatic Association issued its first membership token in 1973, and every year since a new token has been given free to each member.

The obverse of the new American Israel Numismatic Association token was adapted from the design by Nathan Karp for the AINA tenth anniversary medal. The reverse is a variation of the original oval AINA logo designed by Nathan Sobel, that appeared on the cover of a special report by Coin World written by David Alexander, describing his experiences on AINA’s tour to Israel in 1976.

The 40th Anniversary token will be sent free to all 2008 AINA members, along with the next 6 issues of The Shekel magazine. New members can send $18 ($25 outside of U.S.) dues to AINA, PO Box 20255, Fountain Hills, AZ 85269. The tokens are also available separately for $5 each postpaid.
