Well... here it comes! My very first question! I wonder if someone can tell me about the condition and possible value of this. The person that gave it to me said there weren't many produced that year so it might be worth a little something. I'm not very experienced with scanning images, so please forgive my pics. Thanks for looking.

There were 1,000,622 of them minted. I have an older Krause, so the value in 2002 was:
VG-8......$12
F-12......$15
vf-20.....$18.75
xf-40.....$28
I don't know all the ins and outs of grading these, someone else will have to help you with that. But it is not over VF-20 in my opinion.
Also Welcome!!!! |

I would grade the coin between VG and F making it worth, according to the latest CCN trends, $35.00 - $40.00 CDN. This is along with the 1922 & 23 one of the key dates of this series.

since we are on the subject of the value of canadian coins, is there any value to these canadian cents- 1921, 1946, 1941, 1935, 1957, 1943, 1947, 1932, 1930, and 1956? i also have 1918 and 1941 canadian dimes. i have no idea of what the cents are worth, but i do know the dimes are silver.

As we all know value depends on condition. Assuming a grade of VF, your cents would have a value of about $10 - $12 with the 1930 representing about half of that. The dimes are about $4.00 each in the same grade.

We all know that the price of the coin depends on the condition in G-4 conditon a 1925 cent would be worth 20.00 at VG-8 30.00 at F-12 35.00 at VF-20 45.00 at EF-40 65.00 at AU-50 120.00 at brown UNC-60 275.00 and at red BU-63 1,200.

That is a nice penny indeed. When I found a collection of old Canadian cents my grandma had I figured they were worth nothing here and 1 cent in Canada. Go figure they are worth more than most of the US coins she had, due to such low mintage. I actually had the 1923 cent, minted around a million I believe. It was in good to very good condition. Got $30 bucks on EBAY plus shipping. Not bad for a foreign cent. I have a ton others. It's pretty much hit or miss though.
