Question Post Mint Damaged Nickel? Or maybe not?

Hello all,

Here is a nickel I found roll searching a few weeks back. It is really interesting. Is this post-mint damage or could is possibly be a mint error?

I gotta go with post mint damage. I can't imagine anything that could happen at the mint to cause that.
