    Not sure I understand the question. I see nothing out of the ordinary - can you explain what you mean by thick planchet ? How thick ?

    What I see so far, from the best of my ability, is what I think they call a deteriorating die, mostly happening to coins that were made right before they changed out the dies... You might look up more information on it, if you see what you think is doubling, and it is all the way around the letters, or date, instead of only on one side, this is die deterioration I believe.
