More Toned Coins,...

There have been several threads concerning toned coins and they happen to be a favorite topic of mine, as well as one of the things I like to collect. For your viewing pleasure I offer eight toned Maria Theresa Restrike thalers.

Below is a sample.

Here's the rest of 'em; http://www.jdsworld.net/toned_thaler...d_thalers.html

I do like the blue of the tone but i am not to fond of the rest. now if it was all blue it would be very apealing but alas!! I am not fond of rainbow tones.. I do however like the all one color tones such as gold or as ive mentioned above.. if the bottom blue was all of the color.. I would like it very much...

But hey... its still a beautiful coin !!

Mach.

How long were they in tissue? I am curious how long it takes to get a good, natural toning on coins.
I had a Silver Eagle that I bought from Littleton Coin a few years back that came in a holder with an insert made of soft Styrofoam. I forgot to take this one out of that minefield of manmade chemicals, and before long it developed a small area of deep blue along the edge of the obverse. I am thinking of splitting one of those foam inserts apart and sandwiching a SE in there to see what happens.
I was just wondering how long it could take to work some toning on a silver coin.

Under the right conditions - I have seen silver coins tone in days. Under other conditions - years.

That is one seriously gorgeous coin.

The MT thaler is a beautiful design to start with and to me, that toning enhances it. Brings it to life.
