I just got my 2007 Proof Sets...EWWWWWWWW

I am disappointed in the packaging for the 2007 Proof Sets. How difficult would it have been to make a cardboard case that held 3 lenses??? It looks like they just figured out a way to use the same basic packaging for the Pres Dollars over again and when the Silver Proof Sets come, they will once again use this same crappy packaging but the "proof set sleeve" will be red, and I will have yet another presidential proof set. UGH!!!

The more I think about it, this particular packaging option will illiminate the need to buy the Pres Dollars Only Set if you can afford the whole proof set because the set will be intact within the proof set. The US Mint just shot themselves in the foot on that by illiminating what was before a multiple puchase by people who wanted ALL of the available sets. I bought both quarter sets AND proof sets in the past to get everything in each package. If I were to be inclined to buy the pres sets, I would no longer buy the pres doll only set. But don't worry about that... I had no intention of buying those sets anyways.

What do you all think?

Thumbs down

I agree... cheaply done all the way around...

My non-prez coin box (10 coin, 2 lens) had a STICKER over the printed '10 coin' wording ... the sticker stated the proof set was 14 coins... There was a little note in my shipment stating some boxes had a sticker, some were printed correctly... geez!! [or they just made another market - you have to have a sticker box and a printed box to have a complete 2007 proof set]

Very disappointed...

Also.. what about those nice 'proof set' boxes the mint sold when the quarters started... you were supposed to put all your 10-coin proof sets in there... now you cannot...

This just points out how much this has become a 'business' to the Mint.. they know they have a 'base' out there.. now they are trying to get as much coin (sorry, couldn't resist) out of us all...

"What do you all think?"

I think that the mint doesn't really care, as long as people continue buying, they will do what ever they please.

Sure you can. Just pull the 10 coin set out the the cover sleeve and put it in the box with your other 10 piece sets. It will fit. You just don't have room for the pres coins but that's not a problem. Get another box from the mint. The ones that hold 10 single lens sleeves (like the State Quarters only sleeves) and start a seperate Pres box. That's what I'm doing with mine.
