| 7 1959 and older nickels in one roll!
i was looking at the ends of each roll of my nickels i got yesterday and saw a 1938 jefferson on the end. i was going to take it out to see what mintmark it was, and a 1940 was behind it! i decided to open the roll. here's what i found in one roll. 1938, 1940(2), 1948, 1954D, 1957D, and a 1958D. there were also a 1961, 1962(5) 1963(2) 1964(12). pretty neat find i think. i can't wait to open the rest! |

What are you waiting for? I'd have been all over those rolls like a pack of dogs on a three-legged cat!

oh, all of these rolls are solid blue rolls. they are those old looking ones. only a few are the newer ones. the strange thing is that i found the 7 pre 1960 in a new roll! i scanned through another roll and found a 1949 and 1941 in one roll! i searched another one and there was nothing. i got 18 more rolls to go! we are hitting the road tomorrow at 8:00 in the morning. we are going to eat breakfast in jackson missouri about 1hr 45min from here. well, have a good weekend and week!

i'm back from that trip! the drive was long, 9 hours one way. we put 1,200 miles on the rental car. well here are the results- 1949S, 1940(2), 1957D(3), 1948D, 1948, 1954D, 1941, 1958D(2), 1959D, 1942, 1946, and a 1938. one of the 1958D's looks really good. i also found a very worn 1990D. also a hanful of 2005 nickels and 46 1960-1965 nickels. i also found 1970S(3) and 1969S(2). pretty good totals.

Nice finds. I had a roll that was almost that good, although a 1939 is my oldest find so far.
