Thread: Canadian half cent, canadian penny

I have a 1949 canadian coin here. Anybody now much about it? Is it easy to find a coin like this in EF?

I also have a canadian penny that was made 2 years later (1951)

Prophet,the coin with a ship on it is a 1/2 Penny from Great Britain.

^^^ Yep, the ha'penny (as my mum called them as a kid!) is def. British, not Canadian. Both coins are pretty common, though.

Ok thanks. I assumed that the british coin was canadian since both coins seem to have the same portrait on them.

Prophet you will find him & members of his family on coins stretching from one side of the world to the other He is King George VI, you will even find one of his ancestors on some coinage used very early on in the USA
