Thread: Another question...

I saw that one is not allowed to post promotional material here. I was wondering how that works for recommendations...for example, a person posted a message asking about coin books. I almost replied with the URL of a seller I patronize who has lots of books at reasonable prices...but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to do that. Also, if someone here, for example, asked about world coins and starting a collection, I would want to tell them to check out coinman's site. Am I allowed to tell them that? Coinman is a registered user, but if he isn't telling them himself...

Note, we do allow self-promotion here, just in a specific area. This is to prevent the board from just becoming a spam wasteland. The numismatic community is usually well behaved, but it's best to have clear rules up front, that way nobody feels that they're being treated unfairly. Of course, if the rules don't work please offer suggestions on how it can work better.
