GD, why in the world don't my pictures post correctly in General Discussion? It's driving me mad... mad I tell you!

I know we've been over this before, but nothing seems to have been done about it. Maybe you could put it on the agenda to talk with Peter about next time you have the big "Moderators' Round Table". I know this affects more people than just me.

I think using a software to edit the pictures might help your cause... Personally, I use photoshop. You should make the size of the image to less than 100kb..

Pictures post properly when they conform to the size restrictions built into the software used by the forum. Please try spiralstreet's suggestion.

OK - just for giggles I tested it myself.

Posting pics by inserting an image hosted on a web site worked just fine. Posting a pic by uploading from my computer did not work. The link for the pic shows up - but when I try to click on it, nada - I get the same old message that I am not allowed to view images ( something like that anyway ).

So tcore - feel better now ? Yeah I don't either It's the same old problem it's always been - but at least you're not alone pal.

Anyway - I am sending a report to Peter. Hopefully it will get fixed - whatever the problem is.

And before somebody asks - yes the pics were in the proper format, size etc.

Doug,I have noticed that some people have recently been posting a link to a photo that you can click on to.You get that 'Sorry, you don't have permission' message.

It is annoying that you have to ask them to post another picture.

Aidan.

Roy, I know how to post pictures. I've been around here for quite a while now. Furthermore, it seems to be a problem for me that is unique to the General Discussion forum (for many others as well).

Check out the picture attached to my post in the "Best Pets" thread under General Discussion. That is a jpeg image that I attached from an image stored on my computer. It is only 33.9 KB, well under the size restrictions, and I did it just as we are instructed to (Sans preview). Nada.

At any rate, thanks for looking into it GD. I appreciate your effort!

Okay, since I don't visit the GD or PRWE forums I wasn't aware of special problems there until reading Doug's post to this thread.

All I can do at this point is hope that Peter can clear up the problem, and wish you good luck!

I don't visit the PRWE forum (or as I like to think of it "The Wild West of Coin Talk") either, so I don't know if it occurs there too.

Thanks Roy. Have a good one!
