Unique strike on a 1965 quarter, and possibly mint mark err on 1985 penny

Hello everyone! And thanks for any info!!

I have to coins that I came a cross that seem to be a mint error and or a double die on mint mark...
The first coin I have is a 1965 quarter, the portion in question is the rim to the left of the date on the front and also same portion of rim on the back. I have looked hard with my magnifying glass and the more I look at it the more puddles and intrieged I get by it! I have spent hours looking for any examples of this and can't seem ti find anything! If anyone has any idea of what this could be? Or if its not an error and I am loosing it? Next question would this be an error is it rare? Or.worth anything but face value??

The second coin is a 1985D penny, the portion in question is the Mont.mark. it seems there is something underthe mint.mark.... could this be double die? Is rare or worth more than face value?

Thank you! do you have any idea what may have caused the 1965 to have marks like that? i was thinking that the marks just looked to straight or possibley a die are but could never make out what they could have been. so i guess that sounds right. THanks again

on a side note, is the 1965 quarter a fairly common one? i have searched through about 5 rolls this week and have found about 20-25 of them, i guess i would have thought they were not so common for there age.
