    That coin was designed by Victor Huster, by the way, who lived in Israel between 1982 and '85. He primarily designs medals and German collector coins.

    Interesting. They often mint coins in Munich and have a German designer. This happens to be one of my favorite coin designs, but it makes me wonder, with all the artists in Israel and Tsfat specifically, you would think they could find someone to design a coin.

    Note that this coin has now two distinct varieties:
    KM-160, cu-ni (non-magnetic),
    KM-160a, nickel bonded steel (magnetic) with dot below State emblem on obverse
