Thread: what would you grade my 1857 flying eagle?

Details, Questionable color, altered surfaces. JMHO.

I was going to say AU58, possibly cleaned..

AU 55, cleaned, altered surface ( questionable color, although this is hard to judge, as different photos show different color, although I see too much pink in the reverse photo for normal, IMO.)

Looks low grade MS to me--61 or 62. I don't see it as a damaged coin.

well, im going to ship it to a friend back home in florida that works for a dealer who sends coins out to ngc and pcgs. so hopefully ill get it back sometime in the next month in a half. speaking of, who is quicker? i know more people like pcgs but i can also imagine their turn around times will be longer

i think shade from light. some of the photos were taken in natural light while others with artificial. shade perhaps? tomorrow i will try to take more in the sun if you would like
