1976 $2 H454/B454 mismatch error
Hi. This is my first post here, but I've been over here before and read some of the stuff.
Anyway, I go by the same screen name on Where's George, if anyone has been over there. I maintain a whole thread devoted to strap searching ($2s mostly, but sometimes other denoms) and I sometimes contribute elsewhere in the WG forums (occasionally against my better judgment). I'm also on the Top Toms list, and I've sold a few things in the Collectors Forum over there. Edit
Here it is:
I found this in a strap today. Someone cashed in a hoard of 2s, and I found some nice ones, but this was the prize:
Front:
Back:
As you can see, this bill was once taped to something. There's no tape on the bill, but the residue is still there. Some of this can probably be carefully scratched off, but I just left it. There's no other problems with the note, besides circulation and folds. Soliciting offers outside of the B/S/T subforums are not allowed.
Welcome to the forum !
Thanks!

Man, I'd love to own something like that, but haven't the foggiest clue of even what zip code an appropriate offer might be in.
That is sweet, though...

Welcome to CT, Ryan. It's good to have you here.
I think you should read the forum rules before posting anything for sale.
-
I saw the rules, and I know about the selling/trading thing, but it said something about a having to make a bunch of posts to be able to go into the proper forum to do that.
I'm not really interested in making a bunch of nonsense posts just to reach a limit to be able to do this, especially when I don't plan on posting here a ton anyway. When I post, I like to actually say something important. Anyone can just make posts to reach this limit if their intent is to rip someone off. If it's that big an issue with the moderator, then I'll do my business elsewhere. We are primarily an educational forum, not a BST one. The rules are for all, so its your choice. Fair enough, right?

Innocent bystander
This is a popular $2 error note. I did a quick search on Heritage and found many 1976 $2's with HA/BA mismatched district prefix's. Most of them were graded , uncirculated and sold for pretty good money. It's too bad about the tape residue on your note.

I wasn't trying to upset you, just to make you aware.

I know. I just don't understand the premise of the "10 post rule". Like it's going to dissuade anyone from malicious intent...
Although I'll have my 10 posts here when it's said and done anyway.
Oh, and here's some new scans. A dealer on WG gave me some good advice. Just a light pencil eraser...took off all the gunk. You can still see where the tape was since it's a hair discolored, but it looks a LOT better. -

It is a nice error, though. Good luck with it.

desertgem,
In all fairness, if you want to respond to my posts, I don't care, but I don't like other people editing my posts after several other posts have been made. I think that's rude, and if that's how this is going to be moderated, where things are edited and deleted, then this isn't the place I need to be.
So forget it. I'll sell it over at WG. You already fouled it up for two people over here who were interested. Oh well though.

You stated that you read the rules. You willfully violated them. Now you're angry that your post was edited to comply with those rules?

That I was. Still, it takes a lot of gall to edit someone else's post though. Not only is it confusing for the course of discussion, but it's passive-aggressive behavior.
So that why I'm opting out. I should of known better though, with some of the people here who think every old bill that is out there is collectible...
