When good goes bad....

...I love finding old silver coins. They are tough to come by, at least in my part of Michigan. I have found quite a few barber dimes but the seated dimes are few and far between.
So last year when I popped this outta the ground I was a happy guy. UNTIL I flipped it over. My heart sunk. I killed it I now only use my steel trowel to dig close to the depth of the coin, then switch over to my plastic one to dig closer to the coin. Lesson learned, the hard way. Just think if this woulda been a CC mint mark. Check out the value that one is in the red book.
Last year was my best year for finding seated dimes by the way, 4 of em.
Clik on the "good" picture first to see what I saw before I flipped the coin over. To see the "bad" thing I did to the poor old thing. Jim
