I'll go with about the mintage of standard proofs the last few years. 750k-800k.

I am going to go low, because there is no limit many people will figure that it will be a common item and the month will fly by and at the end of the month 114,000 will have been sold.

People want what they can't have. It's the thrill of the chase, not the item itself that people like. Since there is no real chase here, I'm thinking lower rather than higher.

There is nothing really new with this set other than a different mintmark. The reverse proof would be appealing to those who really like them or those who don't as yet have a reverse. I'll second Danr and TC's guesses and say 250,000-300,000.

If we take a look at the last 10 years of sales and figure the longer selling periods in previous years and other factors like the price of this set, inclusion of the reverse, and simply throw a dart at a board...

    2001 746,398
    2002 647,342
    2003 747,831
    2004 801,602
    2005 816,663
    2006 1,092,475
    2006 Reverse Proof 248,875
    2007 821,759
    2008 700,979
    2009 N/A
    2010 849,861
    2011* 950,000
    2011 Reverse Proof* 100,000

....I'd put the 2012 numbers at about 650,000.

Hello Chief ~ I think that you are on the money with mintage figures being over 1 million. At a price point of $125ish many people will load up on these sets, and why not I'm in for 4 sets. I can see somewhere down the road thse sets selling for $200 maybe more, they will be very collectable to the many silver eagle collectors out there. Click here to enlarge
