    1857 odd seated liberty coin

    so i was going through some old coins i had and found this coin. It has the seated liberty like most the coins from its time but it has a strange back. Any idea what i have here?

    Looks to be a love token, a retooled carved coin, possibly with a plugged hole, which means this coin would have been worn as a necklace.

    so im guessing its not worth much of anything? I don't even know where it came from so i cant even consider it to be a family memento haha.

    Yes, you have a love token. Some people collect love tokens. As far as value I have seen them sell for $10 and up. Do a search on eBay to get an idea of what similar love tokens are going for.

    There's the silver content I got $140 last year for $5 face standing liberty quarters that were slick as could be.
