2012 "s" mint uncirculated quarters - fast sell out?

The max mintage on these is 1,400,000 witch does not seem that low compared to comparable proof issues but the big factor with these is that they will be sold in bags and rolls so the amount of lots sold will likely be vary low under 20,000 and a handful of dealers could buy them all in seconds if the mint does not set a limit of them. Even at one bag of 100 coins and a roll of 40 coins per customer you are looking at only 10,000 lots sold Click here to enlarge

Now are we talking about non-proof issues? Didn't even know they were doing this.

Count on the Mint to screw this up, so most collectors lose out! Now, with no limits, even though the mintage may be concentrated in few hands initially, long term, once they're sold in the secondary market, I don't see great appreciation, as the mintage is about that of regular proofs.

Just another new way for the Mint to sell their products at above-face price to collectors.

correct, these are normal clad business grade coins. The only other issue i can think of that is slimier to this is the 1996-W dime and those book for $20 a pop.

I think you may have meant "similar", but "slimier" is a very good choice also.

If we see no sales limit on these i could see a few large connected dealers, maybe as few as 5 or 6 people buying them all and the average collector will have to pay a vary large market to buy these slabbed by NGC/PCGS on Shop@Home.

With that being said, it will lack the secondary pop. I mean we are not talking 14-d cent or 32-s quarter here. The dealers are going to sell them way over market.

Yeah, unless the mint wants another fiasco, like the 2011 25th set, they should sell them only in rolls with a limit of one roll initially or sell them to order with no mintage limits.

    Fine
I will be interested in purchasing a roll set of each design. Perhaps, a second roll of each for fun, but it is not required. I would rather purchase just one uncirculated set of the five quarters.

And I'm also interested in knowing what ATB reverse it will have. I doubt it will be pre-1999 design.
