    1961 Penny Error???

    Found this penny today, is this an error coin? I noticed that the date is very defined.

    or maybe it is a proof? Lincoln looks different compared to other pennies as well

    it looks 'more defined' because it's 95% copper. the present day composition does not allow for deep fields like yours.
