    Smile 1911 Barber Dime

Hi, this is my first post on CoinTalk. I've been collecting for around 2 years now, (I'm a kid), and I bought a 1911 Barber dime for around 7.50 about a year ago. It has great luster(not cleaned) and all letters of liberty are visible. The reverse is in fantastic condition with all the little details showing. Just wondering how much it is worth! Thanks.

P.S. I'll try to post pics but every time I try it says upload failed?

I don't know - try resizing it to about 600 pixel width

That is an EXCELLENT coin!Nice detail. Looks like is was dipped a long time ago, but otherwise it's gorgeous. I'm not sure how to grade these though but it looks MS to me!

can you get a picture in better light and out of the holder? I looks either MS/AU cleaned or dipped. Doubt it would grade solidly.

Very Nice coin. From my inexperience eye I don't believe for it to be dipped. I did a scan on ebay and found that these tend to run 50-75 in high AU and break into the 100+ range when you get into mint state. I believe this to be a mint state dime, but I'm not sure how high of a grade. Beautiful.

Upon further inspection this might have been dipped. Check out the luster on the MS-64 example listed below. Still a very nice coin.

I love me a barber! That looks nice, but I never learned how to grade the things, even though they are one of my favorite coins...

Thanks all of you for replying. The picture makes the color of the coin a little flat, but in hand, it definitely looks like it was not cleaned. I'll get another pic tomorrow. Hopefully you can get a better look.

That's a gorgeous dime! Beautiful clean silver color too! While it does appear cleaned, it's a great coin nonetheless! If it is in actually NOT cleaned...well...even better Click here to enlarge

Lovely coin, but I don't think it is MS, has some wear on the top of Libertys head. Looks too flat to just be a weak strike. I see it in the AU-50 range.
