Unfortunate to hear this happened to one of the honest people in this business. -

Its probably a good idea to block the buyer. However, just to play devil's advocate, I once ordered something from ebay which never showed up at my house, yet was listed as "delivered" according to the tracking number. It was a 150 dollar item. I also filed a complaint that it was never delivered, which it wasn't, and I also was looked at as a scammer. Sometimes the U.S. mail just messes up. But again, its still probably a good idea to block that buyer if its happened before with him.

Okay, I am lost. It says this guy has no negative feedback. It also has one that is labeled positive and says that there was a payback and he kept the coins and money, but that was over a 64 mint set. There is also one as positive that says he sent the check and then canceled the payment. I am lost!

EBay will not allow sellers to leave negative feedback... even if it is deserved.

Sellers are no longer allowed to leave buyers negative feedback so the only way to warn other people is to leave feedback the way they did.

Its ironic though, considering that the law always sides with the postal company. In legal matters, if someone can confirm that they mailed you something, then as far as the law is concerned, you received it. If you claim you didn't receive something, the burdon of proof is on you to show that, according to U.S. law. But Paypal seems to operate opposite of this.

This would actually be worth pursuing it through the courts and/or criminally with the police.
PayPal and eBay are not the last word on situations like this and the only way you'll recover either the item or the money back from the buyer is to pursue it.

But if the item was insured, why not file a claim?

However, if this was by design on the buyer's part, why let them get away with it that easy?
If this was by design of the buyer, they're counting on the fact that the seller would NOT pursue this through the civil courts, or criminally as most sellers wouldn't go through the expense.
