And one of the other side, which should have the portrait/inscription.
That will make it possible to ID it.

Most of small coins made in XVIth century in German States are blank (with obverse only). Also this one. In a week time I`ll made better photo. One of my Polish friends told it can be the coin of Hesia or Salzburg, but he`s not sure.

Tom,you certainly won't find that Salzburg 1 Pfennig in Krause,as it is from the 1560's,which is when Queen Elizabeth I was on the throne of England,& Scotland was going through some major upheavals.

Dear friend, I`m just a stupid amateur and happy owner of Krause 1900 - up only. I think it is enough for me, because I have some computer files with powerful database of older coins. Sometimes I have a problem with some German States coinage or Swiss Cantons... I belive some day the graet database will be created on-line, but when?

It already has been - NumisMaster - but, it's pricey. And it only covers coins back to 1600, gold coins back to 1500.

Tom,you could email photos to Thomas Michael at michaelt@krause.com .He may know someone who could identify this coin.

Please do let us know how you get on.
