Hello all. Sorry for the delay in announcing a winner. I've been away on vacation the last week or so. The end of the contest was actually yesturday, Saturday 17th of March (not 18th). Closing prices = 32.56 per ounce. I am hesitant to determine a winner until somone can double check that my math is correct. This is what I have so far.
There are 21 (1965-1970) 40% Kennedy Halves. Each one weighs 11.5 Grams. 21 x 11.5 = 241.5 grams. 241.5 x .40 (40%) = 96.6 Grams of Silver. 96.6 divided by 28.35 (how many grams are in an ounce) = 3.4074 ounces of silver.
If we take 3.4074 x 32.56 we have a total value of $ 110.94.
Total Value = $ 110.94
Sorry for the delay, but could somebody check out my figures before a winner if officially declared?

Precious metals are always sold in troy ounces not avoirdupois so it would be 31.1 grams per ounce in this case and not 28.35 grams per ounce. And congratulations to the winner pballer225.
Congrats to Pballer!
Thanks for doing this JCB. It was fun watching the ups and downs the last couple days. I just needed another quarter or so drop the last day, dang it.
I just find it interesting how the eight from the lowest won the contest, and there were like 40 higher guesses. Kind of puts into perspective CT members attitude toward PM pricing, right? Just for full disclosure, I was the next guess lower than the winner.
YES! thanks so much for the contest! It was definitely fun to watch the price and cross my fingers as it changed from day to day. Sorry for everyone that didn't win
