    Ebay purchase

I have question about a purchase on ebay! I moved about 5 months ago from one address to another. I notified the seller of the coin after a week in a half asking if the coin shipped and he responded with the tracking number which I checked on USPS website and it was delivered to the wrong address. I went to my ebay profile and the primary address had been changed and was correct. So,I notified him again explain the situation, he responded that he sent it to the address that was in paypal. Well Ididn't realize there was an address there as well! So,my question is am I screwed here or shpuld he have sent to the primary address on the account? Thanks for your help

I think that when you click thru to pay with paypal it shows the address that the seller will ship to. If you didn't get that changed, then it's not the seller's fault.

That's why I'm asking I have never been onthe selling end of the transaction. But why have a primary delivery address if the seller doesn't have that same information. And I forgot I bought two other coins within two weeks of this one and came to the correct address.

As long as you submitted forwarding information to the Post Office, I don't see why the shipment would not be forwarded to your new address.

did you file a change of address card at the post office??
before you moved???? you should have the post office will automatically forward the mail.. that's why you should always get signature confirmation , find out who received and and get your stuff back ....unless you moved from like California from like Texas then your kinda screwed..

I am afraid that the seller would just automatically send it to the address verified by paypal. I would. First, it's the only way a seller is protected under their policies. You must ship to the verified address.

Hopefully, whomever got the coin at your old address returned it. Then quite likely it is someplace in the postal "system". If someone kept the package, it's gone. The seller isn't at fault nor liable. Updating is something the buyer must do when they change addresses.

I hope it wasn't a huge financial transaction. But wait for a while yet and see if the post office returns it to the seller. Of course, you should pay any additional shipping costs to reship it. That's fair.

If you never get the coin. Buy another one and chalk this one up to the cost of education. It's not something that you will ever let happen again and we all screw things up at some point. Especially when there are so dang many details to see to.

On the brighter side though, most people just write "wrong address" on things and leave them in the mail box. I would never open a package not addressed to me and I don't think the vast majority of people would. Give it time, you may recieve it yet.

Yes I did an address change and I have been getting items from the old address. Not sure why this one didn't forward. Thank you for the replies.

OP, I think that it should be forwarded since you have a change of address form on file. In my experience this can add a week or two to the time, so hopefully its still on its way. I had some mail take almost a month to get forwarded from IA to MN when I moved.

Yeah, I would definitely make sure your address is updated on Paypal.

    Sorry for the headache.

Bet your forwarding order with the post office had "expired".

If you have a tracking number and it was delivered, that means the person at your old address has the item unless they put the mail back as return to sender. You have proof it was delivered, go ask them for your mail. If they don't produce it, be sure to remind them that tampering with mail that is not yours (even at wrong address) is mail fraud and a felony. Click here to enlarge

Finally someone suggests contacting the current resident. Believe it or not most people ARE pretty decent and will be willing to send it on to you or mark it return to sender and drop it back in the box. If you get them to forward it I would definitely offer to pay for the shipping.
