    Can someone please tell me what the value is worth and where or who would purchase it? The condition of the coins are in VG to VF. My father left me this collection and had marked the condition. Thanks

    This. The '14-D? The '22 Plain? The '31-S? What are the grades of all the coins? Have pictures?

    There's a million variables that cannot be accurately taken into account here. If you want a real appraisal on it, take it to a coin dealer.

    Yes, it is and my father had it marked down as a VF. This is a full and complete collection.

    If he's even a little off, it can affect the value by hundreds of dollars. There's no way we can accurately give you a value without good pictures of the big coins.

    If it is a full set and all the coins are VF or higher, you are looking at quite a bit of money. The only thing that I would say is, you would probably have a hard time selling it. I know that for me, and almost every other collector I know, the fun is in the hunt. Trying to find a good deal on this coin or that to fill in our albums. I would think you would have better luck selling it off one coin at a time. That is just my opinion though. I don't sell coins, I just collect. But yes, pictures are needed to give you an accurate value.

    Without pictures, you will just get some wild stabs. Even more than that, what coins are in your "set"?

    Regardless, at least 3/4 of your value will be in these coins (in VF);
    1909-S VDB = $1,000
    1909-S = $120
    1914-D = $350
    1922- = $1200 (if he even has this one)
    1931-S = $90

    You would be lucky if the rest all put together would be worth $200

    Yes, I have the 1922. I have a complete set. Any recommendations on how to take good pictures?

    There are a couple versions of the 1922. The 1922-D is the normal coin in the set. However, there were 4 die pairs that did not have the D...so does your set include the 1922-D and the 1922 No D (as many sets only have the 1922-D)? Plus, there are many weak D examples that people mistake for the No D which are worth far less. Photos of this coin are really needed.

    1909-S VDB looks Very Fine Plus except for the nick in the rim on the reverse

    I doubt the nick on the rim will affect it much, but the scratch in AM will.

    Agreed...that scratch in the back hurts.

    Also, for the OP: can we see a photo of the 1914-D?
