hi i really cant say that i have a collection, where i work i come across alot of coins and if they are old i just replace them and take them home. I have 4 dimes a 1917, 1935,1945, 1946 just wondering if they were worth more than a dime.

They're worth more than face value just based on their silver content. How much more depends on their condition and often what mint produced them. The best source to estimate their value is at http://www.pcgs.com/prices/. To make use of this though, you'll have to familiarize yourself with the grading system.

Welcome to the forum!
I would stroungly disagree that the best place to get a value is PCGS---that is the most over hyped price guide around IMHO---check ended auctions for the best values.
In normal circulated grades your coins would be worth under $1 each.

I agree that prices on PCGS are inflated. However, auctions can be misleading. You have to be careful to look at multiple auctions. A lot of things sell for a wide range of prices, especially low-priced items. I've seen inexpensive or even moderately expensive proof sets vary by a factor of two in different auctions closing on the same day.

CoinValues and other magazines can also also provide a good guide.
