Hello Everyone!

Short history about myself...

I am 40 and have collected coins since I was 12. I also enjoy metal detecting (heck who doesn't like finding RARE OLD coins lying around for free???)

I worked at a newspaper for 17 years before being handed a severance check and shown the door, since then I sell online full time.

I look forward to everyones posts. Have a great day!

Welcome! I think I was about 12 when I started also.

Except for a 20+ year hiatus , I've been collecting ever since.

Glad to have you!

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I think I started collecting when I found a wheat penny in my change.

As far as what I collect, a little of everything. Most of my coins are in albums and were found rolling change for a vending machine route. Just like metal detecting... FREE OLD COINS! I have found Standing Liberty Quarters, Buffalo Nickels, and everything newer in vending machine money.

My oldest metal detecting find... an 1846 Large Cent, most valuable... 1864 Indian Head with Liberty intact and no pitting, BUT it is completely GREEN in color from being in the ground! It would grade very fine + if not for the color!! Also found an 1911 D?? I believe, dime in EXTREMELY FINE condition. Looks like it was dropped the day it was minted. No jars of gold coins yet, but I am still looking!
