ANA Correspondance Courses

I want to take the ANA grading course. They offer several other courses that will earn a certificate /diploma.

Has anyone found these other courses to be of value?

Thanks

I don't know, but I too long to take them, I'm hoping they are a legitimate step in professionalization turning a hobby into carreer. Of course that is still 10+ years down the road

I strongly recommend that you stop collecting for the moment and take the course. The course will be the most valuable numismatic experience you ever experience.

I took the ANA's Counterfeit Detection class at the Summer Seminar and loved it. I learned more than I could ever imagine and now I can use my skills while in the field. I know that the grading courses are tough, but not as tough as you may think. It will take a lot of patience and dedication to learn all of the things from the courses, but I know that it will be an invaluable experience.

Hope this helps.

ANA education

I took a Intermediate grading class in mid May 2006 in NJ. It was given before a 3 day Coin show GS??. It was so good I almost went to the Summer Session in CO. They have a set of around 600 coins that had been graded by PCGS. These coins included "Body Bags" coins which don't get graded. The class had a $100 discount if you joined the ANA. The guy next to me was taking the Class for a third time. I'll take another Class when it's in the area even the sameone a 2nd time. The Class picture was printed in the Numismatic News.
