Walkers they will hold there numismatic value over an ASE which is bullion
With the Walker's being melted the numismatic value should go up on the more common lower grades as there getting to be fewer and fewer of them.

I think walkers are one of my favorite coins for some reason, so I would go with the 3 walkers
If your just looking to buy silver then I would go with the ASE. Buy them raw just over spot and you have a nice bullion coin and your silver without the overhead. I would only go with the walkers if your collecting the series.

And if you're buying for bullion value, don't buy a slabbed ASE. Just throw it in an airtite once you get one. They are, after all, just bullion.
I'd buy the Walkers. There is more numismatic value and history behind them. Plus in those grades, you should be able to get them for around melt if they are common dates. You're still going to pay a premium above melt for an ASE.

Another question: Looked on ebay, but should I get a common date in VF or EF or a rare date in VG
I'd start out with common dates in the highest grade you can afford. Then go buy an album to put them in. Then you're off to the races!
I love Walkers too and that's where my money would go. That said, nothing wrong with collecting ASE's and if I can get them for a good price I'll grab those too. To be honest with you if silver goes any higher, every silver coin minted by the US Mint becomes more in demand and the price goes up, up, and up some more. Gooooooo Silver!!
Depends upon your budget and taste. In EF they are reasonable with the exception of the 21's.

Im confused why is there an exception on the 21's
3 Walkers is alot more Silver value than 1 NGC slabbed ASE. As stated above, the Walkers will hold some Numismatic value, while the ASE is more bullion value.

I tell you all what. Sell me all of your non numismatic just hunks of silver bullion ASEs for a bit over melt. I'll flip them and keep the money they were not worth. The only people they dont have collectors value for are those of you that say they don't.
yahnke 21 mintage of only 246,00, 21D 208,000, and 21S 548,000. Thats why they a worth a lot damn more.
jcak, the original is always the best, but the ASEs are twice the size and absolutely beautiful. As was said, going with the walkers, buy as high a grade as you can possibly afford. You cant go wrong that way.
As I read this thread earlier, I realized I have a bunch of ASEs but only 1 or 2 walkers. So I ran out and bought 7. I feel better now
