| Modern Coins
Hey All,
Im not sure if this is the right place to post this but I was wondering what modern coins that are being produced today or are not produced anymore that is still easy to find in your change would be the smartest to collect for value later on down the road. Like for example you have the 50 state quarters that are still easy to get in change. So all help would be appreciated because collecting these coins would be an easy way to start my collection off. On a side note, are the Sacagawea Gold Dollar's going to be worth and hard to find in like 100 years. why a 100 years u ask, I would like to have coins like these to pass down and in generations to come they will hopefully be worth alot more.

This is just a wild guess because I'm not sure that very many modern coins can be collected from circulation that will ever have significant value. There seems to be a large number of high grade modern coins of all sorts being saved these days. But I would say your best shot is Kennedy halves. Some of the mintages from the 1980s might be low enough to make them slightly valuable someday. It is also still possible to find a few older Kennedy's that are either 40% or 90% silver.

1983 p+d quarters with lots of detail (au)
nickels have more than 5 cents of nickel and pre1982 pennies have more than 1 cent worth of copper.

Have fun collecting it. I am not even sure you could get all the Sacagawea's from circulation. Seems like only one year was released into circulation, but for example you could see how many lincoln cent books you can fill from change. Of course you might have to buy some proofs - but they are inexpensive.

Wondered how long it would be before that question was asked again. My crystal ball aint workin either, but I always have the same answer for that question, have for years - the Roosevelt dime.

LOL GDJMSP. seems you seen alot of new people to coin collecting come and go. Yea well I come from a place where coins really isn't much of a factor to people but when i found these 2 coins which were from the 1700's (which i later found out they were fake) it sparked my interest in coins and the rarity of some of them. So I found this place and thought i'd drop in lol. So one question though, the roosevelt dime, I know its the normal dime we all see today but when you say collect them I would collect them by the dates correct. And I would try to get them from different mint marks and the key dates right? Well if im right on all of that could you lead me to a place that could tell me the key dates of the dime or a place that could tell me the key dates for all coins. It would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a buyer & not a seller, I'm looking for more value for the money. Like many agree NGC is tougher on FBL than PCGS. If you're looking to certify your raw only to sell then ofcourse you'll look for a grader that would assign MS70 for all | |
