History Bureau of Engraving and Printing

I thought I posted this before in a thread but I couldn't find it. Here it is again just in case. This is a book I picked up last year that has a few great intaglio pieces in the 1st edition. Worth the price if you can find one!

    Thanks

The 1st edition was printed in 62 and that is the one that you want. I found mine online in a book store in Eastern PA for $45. I had to do some searching to get it that cheap! They are out there if you are looking hard enough.

Check abebooks.com. They had a number for sale.

Good book! I've got a copy, too. In fact, I think I recommended it. Click here to enlarge Fyi, I've picked up books from Phil Banser -- he mostly sells philatelic literature, but generally good prices. The first place I look, though, is Bookfinder.com.

UPDATE; Found an original (1962) edition from a small Southeast Florida bookstore. I emailed them to make sure it wasn't the 1978-1979 republication, and it arrived today. It was marked for sale @ $35, but was able to snag it for $28 and $3.50 S&H. Almost all of the new & used ones for sale are the later (republication) edition. Great history, and lots of B&W photos of BEP operations. Some very nice intagilo engravings & vignettes included. Glad I read this thread.
