Well it was Mother's Day but thought I'd try the usual every second Sunday coin show around here. The weather forecast was for cloudy and rain so I thought this show will really be a flop. Got there at about 9AM when it is supposed to open and found the parking lot mobbed already. Went inside and found more mobs of people. Only about 60 to 70 dealers though and thought there would be a lot less. Hey go home all you people so the prices will go down I thought. The same base dealers were in the same talbles as they are at this coin show every Month. Noticed there were several dealers with currency also. The dealer that sells books wasn't there this time. Prices of food was to high so I starved until I got home. You would think that on Mother's Day there would have been free food or something. I asked one lady dealer why she was there on Mother's Day and she said just to keep her husband out of trouble. I really couldn't find much in the way of anything I wanted for a price I was willing to pay. When there are to many people at these shows the dealers appear to hold their prices more. I did somehow manage to spend about $500. Got out of there by 11AM before I became broke buying stuff I liked, not needed. One of my pet peives is the idiots that decide to start a discussion right in front of a table I am trying to look at. One dealer noticed that and said could you guys move a little so people can see what I've got and they looked like they were being insulted but they did move on. Cell phone mania is getting to the coin shows to. Saw one guy talking on a cell phone while trying to look at coins. Probably asking his wife if she wants a coin for Mother's Day.
