Mostly I collect Proof Franklins...For about 4-5 years I have been working on getting a set all in PF66....so far I'm down to 2....1951-1952...all must be slabbed by PCGS/NGC/ANACS/ICG and so far most of them are in NGC slabs....none are in ANACS's and one is in ICG.
Other than that I just collect what I like....I completed my Washington Quarter collection early this year and sold it and am working on the set again in AU-BU grades.

Welcome Elliot! A fellow Pennsylvanian I see (I live near King of Prussia, although I'm moving to California in about 2 weeks. This is a great site. Oh, and my main collection interest are Morgan Dollars.

Smile Welcome Ellliott! I collect Silver Dollars

I also collect five dollar gold coins. Like you, I have an avid interest in VAMs. Unlike you, I have little usable knowledge of vams, But I am learning to more easily spot them (top 100, hot 50). It's a labor of love, but I am slowly getting there.

I only collect uncirculated Morgan and Peace dollar specimens. I have a modest collection of about 100 Morgans and fifteen or so Peace dollars. About forty of the morgans are raw. The rest are certified by PCGS and NGC with the majority of them NGC. I was lucky and collected several of the 1878 7/8 TF and are slowly having them attributed.

Any information you provide on Vams would be most welcome and very much appreciated!

Right now, I am struggling with determining which Vam the PCGS 1878 7/8 TF MS 63 strong is I just recently purchased. I know it's a 7/4 variety, quite possibly a VAM 34. The obverse though has me puzzled in that I am not sure it is a Vam 34.
I have the Top 100 Varieties CD, but cannot get the pictures to come up. I have ordered the book, the VAM keys and I am hopeful I can figure what this coin is when the book comes in. In the mean time, when I actually figure out how to post pictures, I will post the pictures of this beautiful coin. Oz

Question ispy

Just discovered this site while trying to decide the best way to sell my coin. Need advice on how to sell my coins at a fair price. Most of my coins are U. S. and only a few dated prior to 1880. I am more of an accumulater than a collector. Grades vary greatly. Have cents to dollar coins with a few oddities, half cent, two cent, etc.
Have about 200 foreign coins, mostly British Empire issues - India, Australian dated prior to 1945.
Advice on how and where to sell coins will be appreciated.

Hi, I'm new to this site. Have some coins and $1.00 silver certificate bills and $2.00 bills. Are they worth more than face value?

Yes they are.....but we needs to know the dates and the grades before we can say for sure.
Normaly the silver certificate $1 are worth $2....sometimes more.
