Open Forum???!!!

I hope that it is okay to discuss this topic here because I have no idea of where else to discuss it!

What's up! I see little if any views of items in the Open Forum and people are not seeing what is offered. Could they really be that busy that they never get around to looking at some of the other Forums or is a case where they too far off the beat and path per say (i.e. too far down on the Forums list). Maybe the Open Forum and Auction Listings Forum should be moved to the head of the Forums List!

Sorry huntsman. It's my opinion that buying and selling things is not the point of CoinTalk. I feel that it's just a nice add-on that Peter lets members have. I get down there every once in a while, but to be honest, I'd be a little nervous about buying from somebody just over the forum where there's no gaurantees and little or no protections of any kind. Sure, I'm getting to know lots of you, but you never know.

I like and use the open forum. All of the transactions I have done have gone well.

Frank - most of the transactions in the Open Forum are handled in the manner we recommend - through PMs, not in-thread postings.

tcore,

I understand why you would be apprehensive to purchase items from someone that places an ad in the Open Forum! However, there are quite a few of us that Buy and Sell on eBay and you could ask for their' User Name to check their' Feedback rating. You could also check ongoing or closed Auctions for their' Policies concerning returns for refunds, which myself and probably many others would extend the same privileges here as well as on eBay.

satootoko,

I am not advertising something for sell here! I am only bringing to light the fact that items can be posted in the Open Forum and it may be weeks before there are more than 15 or 20 views of the items. I am sure that many folks may not be interested in an item or items but most would at least take a look (view) the thread if they ever ventured to the Open Forum. However, this is very seldom the case and started the tread to find out the reason why!

Frank, the number of views you're seeing is inaccurate. Someone asked Peter about this recently, and he said that the program's done this before and it's time to "give the server a good kick again." Right now, "views" only shows the total number of actual replies, plus one. It's happening in other parts of the forum as well. Please don't despair.

Actually you just discovered that many of the people here don't post there because of the COIN POLICE.
See the coin police are watching everywhere and if they see you using anything here that dose not pertain to coins, they come and take away all the coins in your clothing, wallets, purses and put them in a coin jail.
They purposely put an open forum here just to see how many people can't read the words COIN TALK and then they go attack.

Frank, good to know. I don't know if you already do this, but if you are selling things, I'd mention that in your posts.
