I personally don't like Barber or Sacagawea. I'm sure there are MUCH uglier coins out there though.

i agree. i was excited about the Sacagawea at first, but once i saw it i used it for money. i think some state quarters like Massachusetts (i wanted one bad untill i saw it) and New Hempshire aren't that great either.

The SBA. It was a triple threat blunder. It wasn't attractive, it was the same size as the quarter and it wasn't done properly with the release.
I love dollar coins, all of them.... I dislike this coin the most.

My vote is the SBA. I really like the reverse of the Sackys.

My least favorite coins are the Barber coins as well.
However, the ugliest has to be the 1793 Chain Large Cent, featuring "Liberty in Fright" on the obverse and "Liberty in Chains" on the reverse!! Very rare and collectible, though.

the sba is the susan b anthony dollar. the outer layer is made of
.750 copper
.250 nickel
this is bonded to an inner core of pure copper the coin is 26.5m m in diam. with a reeded edge. p,d & s mintmarks. i would scan one for you but my pictures do not turn out very well.
oh. btw they were made in 1979 to 1981 and were stopped until 1999 to meet the needs of vending machines.

That Churchill is pretty bad.
Personally don't really have a problem with SBA's...

Eunice Shriver Commem is one of the least appealing coins I have ever seen. I have always liked the reverse of the SBA. The Churchill Crown is so ugly, it is almost cute. |

I think Barbers are beautiful in high grade or especially proof. They do wear very ugly, though!

Thanks for the pic, satootoka. I picked up one of the Churchills out of the junk box at the coin show. You're right, this is one ugly coin!!!

I love the Churchil Crown! I got a bunch of 'em. This is what a dollar coin should be: big, heavy, shinny, with someone important on the obverse.
Bring back the Ike!
(I'm headed back to the coin shop tomorrow to pick up some more Ikes and Kennedys for circulating.)
