Does anyone remember having one? They were published in a Mad Magazine in the sixties. I had one. I remember there was a big stink because you were able to use them in the dollar bill change machines of the time. According to the internet, agents from the US Treasury went to Mad Magazine and accused them of counterfeiting. They even confiscated the original artwork. What a wild story. I don't know whatever happened to mine.
I remember that one! My friend tried to spend it at the corner store. Three bucks was a lot of money at the time and he was sure he could buy a pile of stuff. The store keeper tore it to bits in front of him.
Can't remember.... This was in 1967, I was 12 years old. I just remember him being so excited and then the shocked look on his face when it got torn up.
that is pretty cool, but my mother was not even born in 1967:rolling:. i remember having a bill clinton three dollar bill! i think he had a cigar or something, i was young at the time. i think it was around '98!
Just as a side note... We (At the toll plaza) received a fax from our Customer Service Center back in 2008 with an image of a one dollar bill an attendant had collected. The bill had Tom Cruise's picture on it. Funny, but the bill passed the counterfeit pen test! I wish I could have seen the original.

One of the games was called 'Draft Dodger' and offered players an official draft-dodger card by writing 'to J. Edgar Hoover.' After Hoover's office was deluged with mail, two clean-cut, most polite, most insistent F.B.I. men suggested that Mad strive to avoid adding to the bureau's problems. The second visit from the F.B.I. occurred after Mad printed a three-dollar bill. This bill, however, was proving effective when inserted in money-changing machines in Las Vegas." The Bufiles do not reference the three-dollar bill incident. The bill appeared in MAD #115, page 18, December 1967 in the article titled "MAD Mintlies". Note: Al Meglin is Nick Meglin's brother.
Mad magazine was so cool!! My brother collected back in the day i liked the Black and white spy,s but cant recall the names that were used..LOL

great stuff pilk. i used to pick up old mad magazines at rummages as something to read. cant remember if that was one date ive seen or not and even if it was stuff like that would usually be cut out of them (blah).
I love MADTV, never actually read a MAD Magazine though. lol This dollar is pretty cool, never even heard of it!
yea. always have to go to youtube just to look up old mad tv bits once in a while. even tho the magazine got stale after a while nothing could replace that tv show.
