You probably know the Isle of Man issues coins featuring cats on them and, if so, you know the Isle of Man has an indiginous cat named the Manx Cat.In 1970 and 1975 it issued circulating coinage featuring the Manx Cat, and in 1988 a Manx Cat adorned the reverse of silver and gold collector coins minted by the Pobjoy Mint (NCLT and proof) In 1989, Isle of Man, authorized the issuance of those collectors' coins featuring different breeds of cats on an annual basis.

1997 was the 10th Anniversary of that 1988 Crown coin that featured the Manx Cat. A Manx Cat is the centerpiece on the reverse of a 1997 silver (75mm 9.2495 oz. ASW) proof 10 Crown coin. As you will see (coin photo courtesy of wbbc-online) the coin also features the reverses of 10 cat coins:
