Haven't posted much as apparently Merc is getting all the silver Halves in our area.
Did 2 more boxes of Halves Last night: Both Skunk.
Did 4 boxes of Dimes since Monday. 3 out of 4 were skunks and the 1 that produced gave up 3 Silver Roosies.
I'd love a two merc average...
$140 bag of nickels, just one '23 Buff. Blah.
4 boxes of halves - skunk
3 boxes of dimes - 1 '68 canadian.
so far this month only 1 40%er 3 roosies and 2 50% canadian dimes.
Did find a bank that uses strings and sons so I will test them out.Didn't even think anyone but brinks serviced this town. Up to 6 boexes of halves a week with that. The more the volume goes up the more the finds go down it seems.
I did two boxes of halves and got. A 67 40% and one box of nickels skunk
Box of halves: Skunk
$15 BWR dimes: '09 D
$485 CWR dimes: '85 Canadian, 2 '09 P, and 4 silver Roosies. Also ended up with 40 cents extra. At one point I was up by $1.70, and soon after I was down $1.50. Fortunately it evened out.
Like Ace I have not posted recently as there was not much to talk about. Last night changed all of that. We have been doing 4 boxes of halves for about two months now and the best boxes we have had resulted in 14 skunks, 2 with one 40% and two with a 40 and a 90. The 90's wre a Walker and a Frankie. I think that is the only thing that kept me going.
Fifth roll of last nights box had a real bright white edge showing as I opened it. I had read on here that the brighter ones are usually 90%ers. I was excited and sure enough it was a Walker. A couple of rolls later my wife says Whoo hoo and she had a roll with 2 40's. She said all we need now is a Frankie, as she was opening that roll sure enough there he was along with a 64 Kennedy (our first).
In total we found
2 Walking Liberty halves dated 1942P AND 1945P
3 Ben Franklin dated 1962D X2 AND A 1963D
2 1964 KENNEDYs
9 40%
total 16
I had been telling myself to hang in there and am sure glad I did. It was refreshing to expect silver instead of hope there might be one in the box. Oh well we are recharged and ready to pick up another box this evening. My wife took some pictures because on Coin talk no picture it didn't happen so here ya go. Good Luck to everyone!!![]()

Box of halves - 1 '67
1 '66 half from teller's tray
Box of dimes - '63
No pics = it didn't happen... if you haven't been around a while and don't have a reputation as a straight shooter.Nice find, UNC.
Strangest box of dimes to date! 6 current Canadians, 1 Hong Kong 10 cent piece, and a '56 roosie.

What do you all do with all of the Candians? I must have at least $10 worth just in dimes sitting in my glove box. Along with all of the 5 Pence and the bermuda 10 cents. I would like to exchange all that somewhere and buy myself a couple silver quarters or something.
HOTN
I've got a bag full of misc foreign coinage including tons of euros and whatnot, and a bag with appx $120 in canadian change. No clue what I'm gonna do with that... I've heard some people sell it on ebay with pretty good luck, the fees would be about 12%, so similar to coinstar...
