Going for 2 more boxes of Halves today. I've upped my quantities so I can get about 8-12 boxes of Halves a week now if I can swing it.
Box of halves - Cladville (Couple NIFC's but nothing to blow your skirt up)
This was my first box of string & sons so I hope they I'm not wasting my time with the flat boxes as the square boxes I am getting from another bank have been great so far. Does a banks several branches get there halves from the same place even if they are say 45 miles apart? I have boxes on order from two different branches so I guess I will find out next week.
It depends on where you are, but generally speaking yes. Most of the big suppliers have large facilities where they sort and wrap coins. So if Dunbar is bringing your coins and they are supplying banks in a given area (50 miles, 100 miles, whatever it may be) than the liklihood is that they are all coming from one main spot.
I see this come up every so often. Strings and Sons is the company that manufacturers the paper rolls and cardboard boxes that the supply companies (Dunbar, Garda, Brinks, etc.) use to fill rolls and boxes. Does it really make sense to judge results based on who's manufacturing the boxes and rolls? You should be basing it on the supply company no?

Called a few banks in the area this morning, apparently they have someone that picks up their halves regularly. New plan! I'm going to head north from my current location for a while and check out the Allentown area.
Where are you finding the time to dump all that? Haha.
Ok guys, this is it. Not backing out now. Next week I am going to take my paycheck and pick up a MINIMUM of $150 in dimes or halves if I can find it. Normally I cannot afford to do such a thing, but I have to save money for rent over the next two weeks (paid weekly.) so I can take some money and go look for rolled coin. Halves have been a real bust for me lately, and so haves dimes to be honest but I have a better feeling about dimes lately. HOPING I can put something together worth while.
I did some number crunching, and since I have started roll searching and asking cashiers etc etc I have pulled a grand total of 1.778 ozt silver weight out of circulation. This is roughly a year give or take of searching but normally I cannot afford to search a ton of coin. Also, I don't have a car so I pretty have 1 Wells Fargo (my main account) in walking distance with a BofA and a local bank immediately near by. I can only really afford to dump so much/week at the WF before they start getting ****y. However, I am really trying to get to a personal goal of 5 ozt pulled from circulation by the end of March.
Wish me luck!!

Only takes one good roll, dude.
Thanks! I know there is a guy around town looking, maybe even a couple guys around town. I live in a medium to larger-small town in Northern California, so I figured I don't have a TON of competition but I have ran into one guy for sure that I know does it. I have seen him carrying boxes out of banks and I once asked for halves right in front of him and he said to me "Hey, I am usually the one looking for those!" with a smile. Friendly guy, not a douche but he could be taking my silver. Haha.
Also, Merc, remember what we talked about. 1/2 the silver you find today goes to me! You're in my grandmother-in-laws town today! If you only find one silver dime, better break out that hack saw!
Found an untapped vein with several hundred in halves on my way up to Allentown. Looks like that's the way I'm going.
