yes it's true they are all now proof coins minted in San Fran. however when I was growing up in the 60's and 70's collecting coins we here on the east coast could only get P & D mint marks.... if you found an S mint mark in change it was like Christmas no kidding... I'm not sure any more how the gov. or mint distributes coins as now a days....it depends on the banks requesting coin. Try going into a bank and asking for rolls of half dollars... most here on the east coast won't have any to sell you. Paddy
